The Jacobites and Bonnie Prince Charlie

Bonnie Prince Charlie was the leader of the Jacobites. They fought with the English because they wanted Charlie to be the King. They fought lots of battles. Charlie had to go on the run. Flora MacDonald helped him. She got him to wear a dress. She took him on a boat to Skye. Flora went to jail for helping Charlie. Charlie got away.

I liked doing this topic because I learned a lot.

Tuvalu

Tuvalu is a country that is an island. It is near Australia.

In Tuvalu (due to the planet heating up) icebergs have been melting and the water that comes from there is rising the sea level which is flooding Tuvalu. So far some of the children have been playing in the water, but that isn’t all that’s coming. There’s still more to come and when that water comes the whole of Tuvalu will be completely flooded.

I feel sorry for the people in Tuvalu because they’ll have to leave their homes. We can stop this by trying not to use all that electricity and to stop global warming.

Money Problems

Some places in England have not been accepting Scottish Banknotes. This is making Scottish visitors very unhappy. The law is that they should be treated exactly the same as any English Banknote but it is the shop or company owner’s decision. Some shops in London, such as flower shops, cafes and cleaners would accept Scottish Banknotes but it seems that big shops might not accept them still.

Berlin Heart

A girl named Abigail Hall made medical history. She needed a new heart but she didnt have any donor which meant there wasn’t a heart for her so the doctors gave her a special heart called a Berlin Heart wich is like a mechanical heart.Abigail is going to use the Berlin Heart until a new heart is found for her. I thought it was amazing that she survived because she was only three years old and the doctors managed to get this special heart. She wouldn’t have had a real chance of surviving unless the doctors came up with this idea so i was very pleased that the doctors thought of this. I was also very happy that she survived sice she was only three years old and it would have been so sad if she had to die so young. Im very pleased that she got through it and i hope she keeps getting better and hopefully there will be a real heart donor for her soon! By Cameron

“Seagull pockets packet’s”

A cheeky seagull went into a shop in Aberdeen and picked a packet of crisps from the shelf. Now it has taken three packets a day. Chased by
a member of the staff it takes the packet outside and opens it with its
beak… it has been caught on video camera sharing the crisps with its
friends.
