The Book Fair Show!

On Friday, to celebrate Book week, we did a show. It was P4-7 that performed for P1-3.
From P4 five peopl came up and told about the book they were reading and thanked Mrs Gardner (Deputy Head) for their new library. Then from P5 alot of people went up and act out characters from Roald Dahl books. Then they did a poem. The poem was Great.
After that, from our class, Louise, Natasha, Leila, Rachael, Amber and I did a performance from the Witches. I was very nervous but I did it.
After us instead of Roald Dahl, two people from P7 sang Start of Something New! They sounded Great. Then to carry on from High School Musical Jonathan, from P7, sang Bet on It.And also Kirsty sang Gotta Go my Own way. Then P6 people did Hannah Montanna. Theirs was cool. Then last but not least P7’s did Snow White. It was so funny and sweet.
So thank you to Mrs Gardner for holding the book fair and show!
From Isla.

Book Fair Performances!!

As celebration of our book week last week, we had some cool performances on Friday! One group read out a poem by Roald Dahl and had a Roald Dahl guessing game which was very funny! I was in part of a group with Rachael, Louise, Amber, Natasha and Isla. We did a scene from The Witches by Roald Dahl. I played Nurse Springer and a rabbit. Because it is nearly Easter, we gave out toy chicks and turned people into rabbits instead of rats. One group only crawled about and meowed because they were The Magic Kittens.Another group did some scenes from Hannah Montana, a T.V. show. I really enjoyed the performances and I hope that we have more soon!!

The Cross Country Event

I was at a cross country event on saturday. It was a cold morning and our team met at Cathkin High School at 8:45 to get signed in. We got our numbers at about 9:00. My number was 82 and I was glad because 82 is my third lucky number. I done very well (well I think so!). I got 11th place in a singular race and 2nd in the team. I found it hard but I got threw it in the end. It was a bit unfair to Calderwood as the other primary schools have running teams and clubs. But anyway calderwood got a good place in the end. At the end of the race I looked at myself and realised I was covered in mud! I really enjoyed it and it was a good chance to get down and get dirty. I couldn’t stay for the presantations but I got my silver medal on Monday. I’ll definetly do it again next year and I’ll be sure to wear studs!

The Book Fair Performances!!!

In association with national book fair and the book fair coming to our school, we got a chance to perform a scene out a book on Friday 14th May. Me and a group of my friends, did a scene out of a book called “The Witches.”
There was one performance from each class, but primary seven had three performances. There was singing and dancing and acting. People were amazing! To Jonathan Larkins and his singing, to primary five with there poetry!Ii really enjoyed taking part! I loved going on stage and putting on a crackly voice. And i’m sure everyone else liked what they did too!
We had to go and get changed into our costumes and put on our makeup right after lunch. It was quite a rush but we managed. There was a lot of practising and russling of paper beacuse of poeple practising their scripts.
Then, we went down to the hall. First, primary five did a poem out of a Roald Dahl book, after that me and my friends went up and performed and threw out chicks to the audience, later on people went up and sang songs out of high school musical and there was a performance of a scene of Snow White.
So if you like performing and you have got people in your school who liketo see a good show, i would reccomend it!!!

Book Week Performances!

As you know, last week in our school was book week and on Friday we had a book week performance. In our assembly hall everyone in the school came to watch primary 4-7s performing. One was a Snow White show, another was a Roald Dahl poem and there were three singing performances! And some of the girls in our class did a scene from a book called The Witches also by Roald Dahl. They were all fantastic!
We had colouring competition for the lower school and a bookmark competition for the upper school. The prizes were given out for that on the day too. Our school has had a fabulous Book Week and I hope your school has too!
