The Book Fair Performances!!!

In association with national book fair and the book fair coming to our school, we got a chance to perform a scene out a book on Friday 14th May. Me and a group of my friends, did a scene out of a book called “The Witches.”
There was one performance from each class, but primary seven had three performances. There was singing and dancing and acting. People were amazing! To Jonathan Larkins and his singing, to primary five with there poetry!Ii really enjoyed taking part! I loved going on stage and putting on a crackly voice. And i’m sure everyone else liked what they did too!
We had to go and get changed into our costumes and put on our makeup right after lunch. It was quite a rush but we managed. There was a lot of practising and russling of paper beacuse of poeple practising their scripts.
Then, we went down to the hall. First, primary five did a poem out of a Roald Dahl book, after that me and my friends went up and performed and threw out chicks to the audience, later on people went up and sang songs out of high school musical and there was a performance of a scene of Snow White.
So if you like performing and you have got people in your school who liketo see a good show, i would reccomend it!!!

The Book Fair

On Tuesday, we went to look at books that the school book fair had provided us with. Our teacher gave us a bit of paper to list books that we liked the look of, so that wouldn’t forget the name of them. At the book fair, they had a section for infants and a section for ages from primary four to primary seven. The book fair had helpers who went round picking up random books and reccomending them. I do like picking books myself, but the way they recommended the book, I would have bought the whole lot!!! I was looking for adventure books when i went in, but on the way out, i liked the comedy books as well. Today we go back to pay for the books. Mrs Gardner will take cheques or money. I am really looking forward to reading my books. Also in association with the book fair, we did a bookmark competition with a motto. Mine was Read at your leisure, enjoy the pleasure. I never won, but it was fun. Anyway, the book fair is really, really fun!!! Rachael

“Squinty Bridge!”

The second fault on squinty bridge. A crack has been found on Glasgow’s Clyde bridge one week after a support cable snapped. The cable, one of fourteen, came crashing down on the 14th January. The crack was found during inspection. The bridge could be close for six months. The River Clyde has a,so been shut to all traffic. The bridge has four traffic lanes. One for pedestrians and one for clycles.

Scotland is Great!

Scotland is a FANTASTIC country. We have great things to see, great food, great entertainment and lots of other fantastic things!
Our sights are amazing! There is Edinburgh castle. That is ancient and very, very interesting! There is also Loch Ness. Some people say that they have seen the Loch Ness monster Nessy. That is a great tourist attraction!
We have amazing food. Haggis, tatties and neeps. If your in the mood for an old fashioned Scottish dinner, I’d reccomend that. I would aslo reccomend fish and chips with a pinch of salt. YUM!
We have great entertainment in Scotland. People who play bagpipes, people who do old comedy acts and if your in the mood for something a little different, we have LOTS of varieties!
We also have lots of traditional dancing in Scotland. In Scottish schools, in gym you learn the old traditional dancing. You will learn strip the willow, military two step, Canadian barn dance, the Gay Gordons and many more!
We also have great poetry in Scotland. Mostly a famous Scottish poet Robert Burns. He has many songs and and poems. In Scottish schools, some children get together in little groups and they learn a Burns poem and after that they enter and competiton. If you win a place in the competiton, you win a reward for your school.
St. Andrew is our Patron Saint of Scotland. Our flag is that design because St. Andrew was crucified on a cross like that. The 30th of November is St. Andrews day and some people would go home that day and have a traditional Scottish dinner.
People who lived years ago wore tartan kilts. Tartan is coming back into fashion in Scotland right now. You could turn around and see someone wearing a tartan kilt. Boys usually wear kilts to weddings.

Everyone should have some fun,
Even the children in Need,
Show your appreciation,
And give a donation,
And become a part of the association!!!!!!
Help Children in Need!

They’re normal people just like us,
They deserve a life,
THEY WANT FOOD!
So give them a fork and knife!
Help Children in Need!

They wear rags,
And they don’t even have school bags!
They don’t even have clothes,
So give them a camera and stuff to wear,
And they’ll strike a POSE!!
Help Children in Need!!

Help Children in Need now,
Please do try!
If you don’t make a donation,
They might die!!!

How blogging Helps Us

I think the blogging site will help our writing because if we do two stars and a wish with other schools, they can correct our regular mistakes!

That’s just halloween!!!

That’s just Halloween!!!

On this very special night,
Something might just give you a fright!
Jump out and give a scare,
Shiver in the costume that you wear!
That’s just Halloween!

You wander in the crowded streets,
Wondering who you might just meet,
Then you feel something tickle your feet,
With fear you freeze,
But it was just the breeze!
That’s just Halloween!

The ghosts float past,
You don’t want Halloween to last!
You hear a scream,
You wish it was all a dream!
That’s just Halloween!

You go in and chap someone’s door,
The people open up with a bowl of sweets galore!
Then you look up and realise they are ghosts,
You run and hit your head against a lamp post!
That’s just Halloween!

Please have a very good Halloween,
Make sure that you are seen!
Crisps and sweets for everyone,
So go and have fun!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Haunted Halloween!

Haunted HalloweenBat eats a cat!
Ghost eats a post!
And they both disappear like that,
Haunted Halloween!Dracula’s feast,
Is blood on a beast!
What will you do?
You grab your lace and hit him with a shoe!

Bear on the stairs,
Eating a pear,
At the back of his lair,
Haunted Halloween!

Bats are so fat,
They can eat cats!
Have a happy green Halloween!!!!!!
